The author does a great job at getting below surface. He exposes how shallowness and entitlement can creep into our lives and wreak havoc, only IF WE LET IT. Throughout the book, he dissects his most eye opening experiences. This guy is open, honest and brave. I give it four stars because some themes in this book are repetitive, nevertheless it is effective and in SOME case necessary.
I did not like the book at all. Everyone has there style, likes and dislikes but it just didn’t resinate with me.
Excellent book. Really puts reality into perspective.
Gave me meaning in life and totally made me cry at how real he was. Honestly the best book to read
This book is well written if he wrote it drunk and sitting at a bar ( which it may have been). I read a lot that I don’t agree with but I’ve never read a book and literally hated the author at the end. Perhaps a nice children’s book written by a self admitted drunk who spent his youth high and had to spend his 20s learning what he missed. The story where he actually watched his drunk and high best friend walk to his death and the lesson he learned was to “live for now”. How about the lesson should be to help others who are in peril. Selfish. Incredible. Icky human.
I have no idea how this got a book deal. There is nothing to be taken away from the book outside of the concepts in which the author has borrowed himself. Do not waste your time.
